Purchase Date editing bug

Editing the purchase date of a software item in 1Password (v3.4.2, build 30750, on Leopard 10.5.8 ) messes up the date field (top part of image). By using up/down arrow keys you can kind of navigate it... unless you are in [b]J[/b]une or [b]J[/b]uly:

The bottom part shows that it looks just fine when not being edited.



There is plenty of room horizontally for the extra space needed for edit status appartus. I don't see why this cannot be fixed. I know you have the calendar, but I already know the exact date, and that method of entry should be a full citizen too.



This problem has been around for a number of versions.

Would you mind posting a screenshot of the Formats tab of your "Language & Text" System Preferences screen (or "International" if you are not using Snow Leopard)?



We are aware of some issues related to certain Region settings. I think this may be one.

Thanks for reporting this to us. This is the first we have ever heard of someone using a custom "Short" date format that was not strictly numeric (i.e.: the default of 1/05/10). I have passed this along to the developers to see if 1Password can accommodate custom date formats in that spot. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Just noticed this from Leopard search results. Looks like an OS bug. Dunno if it's fixed in Snow Leopard. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

If you use one of the standard "Region" settings, this should not be a problem in UI elements. We and Apple both have had to work within the constraints of a non-resolution-independent UI to produce desirable results in many situations but cannot account for all. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />



If someone wants to have a custom "short" date of "Tuesday, January 5, 2010" there is nothing we can do to stop it, but it may look odd in many apps. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />



Please let me know if switching back to a standard "Region" setting resolves the issue for you. Thanks!
