Delay of scheduled backup

"The computer must be turned on and you need to be logged in at the scheduled backup time..."
It is not clear what if these conditions are not met. Would it be:
a) The next backup will be at the next scheduled time (e.g.: could not backup a daily backup today at 1pm? It will try tomorrow at 1pm).
or:
b) The backup will be performed as soon as the conditions are met. (e.g.: could not backup a daily backup today at 1pm? it's now 2pm today and you finally logged on? The backup will be performed now - 2pm)
I prefer case (b)
or if you want to please the other group of people, have an option to select the behavior.
Finally:
Add an indication to the menu icon when any backup was missed, such as an "!" inside the suitcase icon.
