1Password only Works with Browsers on iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch
I'm trying out 1Password. When I'm on my iPad or iPad Touch, things like DropBox and Evernote are separate apps, not within a web browser. Can 1Password fill those in? The sign in screen doesn't trigger 1Password. I ended up copying and pasting the password from 1Password into the sign in screen.
Thanks!

Hi sharon888,
Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry you are running up against a limitation of Apple's security policies on iOS devices. Apps on iOS devices like your iPhone and iPad are not allowed to interact directly with other apps like they are on your Mac. Both Dropbox and Evernote do support saving your password, so once you enable a passcode on your device (Settings > General > Passcode Lock) no one will be able to get into your data in those apps, but you will have easy access after entering your device passcode. (This is separate from your 1Password 4-digit code and master password.)
Copying and pasting are the only ways to get data into and out of the app (besides syncing with a Mac or PC or using 1Password's backup feature, but I don't think that's what you are interested in from this thread).
I'm sorry I don't have a better answer, but I hope that helps explain the situation.
You may also want to take a look at our Look Up in 1Password for iPhone and Look Up in 1Password for iPad bookmarklets. (You will need to click those links on your respective devices.) You only have to set it up on one device if you are syncing your bookmarks in iTunes or via MobileMe.
The bookmarklet will allow you one-click lookup to the specific login for a site in Safari. Unless Apple changes their policies, this is the best we can do outside of our own apps.Flag 0
