Possibility to expand to bookmarks

Today is a sad day. The fantastic Xmarks browser bookmark sync service has announced it is shuttering its doors. The sad fact is, that while browser bookmark syncing between copies of the same browser is easy to come by, syncing between different browsers was handled only by Xmarks. It got me thinking, 1Password already integrates with tons of web browsers, is now cross-platform, and has a cloud syncing service in the form of excellent Dropbox integration. If we could use 1Password to keep bookmarks in sync between all our browsers the way we do passwords, it would be immensely helpful. You'd probably pick up a ton of former Xmarks users, especially for your Windows version.

Yes. I think xmarks (perhaps it can be acquired), or a similar Agile home-grown functionality would be a perfect addition to 1password.

I'll be very sad to see xmarks close it's doors, as there is no cross-browser alternative.

  • Please, add my vote. Adding bookmark syncing across platforms and browsers is one of the nice functions that is needed but does not get in the way.

Speaking purely from a user standpoint.

Hey this is the possibility of getting All bookmarks relaunched and at the same get it into a lot of browsers really quickly. Of course I would add it needs to be a paid model we wouldn't want it going the way of xmarks,

Well, 1Password is already a "paid model" seeing as you need to buy the app.

Xmarks ran their own cloud, and when they failed to monetize the data they collected, the operational costs became a huge liability. I don't see any reason Agile would need to do create its own cloud though. You guys have already wedded yourselves pretty well to Dropbox for cloud syncing and storage. All we really need is a universal bookmark store that would live within the Agile keychain file on Dropbox, and sync functionality would need to be added to the various 1Password browser extensions.

No I am sure they would use DB as a sync mechanism.

I was referring to our app "AllBookmarks" being a paid app. Sorry I didn't make that to clear. Currently its free. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> but it doesnt sync different Macs etc, it just keeps the browsers bookmarks in one location. On the particular installed Mac

An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
