more than one login on same site

If I have saved a login on a site (for instance my webmail)

and I login again with another username, 1Password does no

longer ask me if I want to save it. My only option is to

launch 1Password, duplicate the saved login and change the

settings. Is there a way to get 1Password to recognize that

I am login in with a different set of username and password ?

thanks,

Martin

    Hi Martin,

Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry that you're having this problem.

One of the great things about 1Password is that you can actually use many unique passwords for your separate accounts (instead of reusing the same one which is much less secure). We even offer a built-in Secure Password Generator. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

1Password should prompt you to create a new login if the login credentials do not match your existing username or password. Perhaps that was the issue. Were both accounts using the same password?

If so, using different passwords is both more secure and will allow 1Password to function as expected.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

    hi,

Thanks for your reply. Indeed the passwords were the same, but I

do think it would be nice if that remained to be my own choice.

And the problem stretches further, because if I login with the

same password on a completely different login page, 1Password

also does not offer to save the login. One is a webmail login,

the other is an administration login and I defenitely have to

use the same password and username there.

So I think it would be great if 1Password offers to save a login,

as soon as any of the details (username, password, webpage) is

different. I would much prefer that over the save login.. option.

    thanks,

    Martin

    Hey Martin,

    Thanks for writing back.

1Password will prompt you to save a login on a different URL regardless of how often you have used the same password elsewhere. I was speaking directly to your original post which seemed to only be concerned with a single site.

Make sure "Autosave logins" is enabled in the 1P browser menu, otherwise it won't work at all. You can always manually save a login as well:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!
