Where is the documentation
<div class="IPBDescription">Looking for the DETAILED documentation</div>Where can I find the detailed documentation for 1 Password? The online user guide is clearly missing quite a bit as evidenced by the number of search terms that return no or useless hits yet are terms found in the 1Password menus, etc.
Case in point "ftp" returns no hits. "server" returns no hits describing this class of 1Password account. So, where is the detailed documentation?
I am not being flippant - I am trying to determine if 1Password can be useful in my environment which consists of lots of accounts of different types, few of them web based. Yes, I can store stuff in secure notes, but I don't need 1Password to encrypt a text file or image file.

Have you looked at choices under 1P's Help menu?Flag 0

Hi mtatmc,
Thanks for considering 1Password! You have obviously already found our online documentation but are looking for further assistance. We do offer a free 30-day trial for you to explore 1Password at your own pace. Once you have it installed you can check out the full list of Account types firsthand. We are always working to update our documentation, and if you have suggestions, I would be glad to pass them along. Would a complete list of item types be useful to you?
Our e-mail support is quite speedy and if you have questions, we generally respond very quickly. I would love to answer any questions you have. Please let me know. Thanks! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0 -
Additionally, I would like to point out that at no point does 1Password decrypt the entirety of your data (as would be the case storing all of your sensitive data in an encrypted text file). That is just one of the many benefits of 1Password. Direct browser integration — which, while perhaps not be your top priority — is also a huge security gain. You don't have to have sensitive data in your clipboard and all your other data remains fully encrypted when 1Password decrypts just that single item to populate a web form.Flag 0

I bought it for home use some time ago. As I said in another thread, it works fine for web stuff so no regrets there. It falls down for institutional use, and the lack of an actual manual (in PDF form or similar) with an index is a serious failing all around.
Most of the questions I have started asking could have and should have been answered in the documentation. There should never be a menu choice item for instance without a corresponding entry in the documentation and an index.
Agile appears to be in serious need of a technical writer - a lack that is not unique to Agile. In this economy I am sure you could find some free lance tech writing if the firm can not hire one on staff.
