Dropbox: Keychain in Library or at least Dropbox subfolder?

Has anyone of you managed to use the 1Password keychain not in the Dropbox root folder but in a subfolder or even at the original location in the library?

    Hi Martin,

Yes in fact many of use are using it off the root folder of Dropbox, This is specifically why when the sync setup is preformed a special file is created and hidden in the root of your dropbox which tells 1P where the keychain is located.

My keychain is located in a 1password folder just off my root in a folder called 1Password for example. Technically you should be able to put it anywhere as long as the keychain is in your Dropbox folder.

if you are referring to the original location, in the user structure and not in Dropbox. I am not sure, even if it can be accomplished its untested and may break things etc. or kill your keychain plus the fact if that Mac is off line then your keychain will not be able to sync your iOS device. This is assuming you used a symlink in Dropbox and have no other Macs online at the time.

Indeed. To sync 1Password via Dropbox, your data file must be somewhere in your Dropbox folder. It can be many subfolders deep, but it must be in your Dropbox folder. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

    Mine is in ~/Dropbox/Documents/Computers & Technology/ without a problem.
