BUG beta #6.6.2: Post-upgrade to b#6.6.2 only 2 logins sync

edited October 2010 in Android
Let me start by saying that I know the keychain in my Dropbox account is good because I just installed 1Password on a second computer and was able to get that installation to sync with Dropbox.

I upgraded from beta #6.6.1 to #6.6.2 through the Android Market. After the upgrade install, I sync'd up with Dropbox. The sync reported success, there are no sync errors, but when I reload the application only 2 of my logins are showing up (1 of which is in the trash folder).

Next, I uninstalled 1Password completely & re-installed it from the Market - the same thing happens.

Then, I deleted /sdcard/dropbox/1Password.agilekeychain (it only contained 4 folders). Went back into 1Password & re-synced with Dropbox. Same thing, only 2 logins are showing up (1 main and 1 in trash)

Finally, I uninstalled 1Password for a 2nd time, deleted /sdcard/dropbox/, re-installed 1Password from the Market and re-synced with Dropbox..... same thing (only 2 logins are syncing) <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />

    Hi dmbfan36_23,

Please open the file context.js localted in <%YOUR_KEYCHAIN_LOCATION_INTHE_DROPBOX%>/1Password.agilekeychain/data/default and explore how many items you see there.

The same number of items you will see on your phone.

The was a long discussion on why some items available on your PC/Mac are not available on your Android phone,

I'd like to refer you to http://forum.agile.ws/index.php?/topic/2134-announcement-ios-winmac-to-android-dropbox-sync-testing-results-oct-310/

(just want to mention that the latest release of 1PiOS which solves the issue is still not available on Market as of today.

Please let me know if you need more info.

    Regards,

    Gene

    Gene - two problems here...

#1. with Android beta #6.6.1, all 915 of my logins were showing up. This is new with #6.6.2

    #2. I don't use 1PiOS
  • Ok - I fixed this... I launched 1Password for Windows and did "repair keychain". It updated the content.js and now all of my passwords are syncing. What causes the content.js to get screwed up like that? Is this a bug that I should report to the 1Pw for Windows guys?

    Hi dmbfan36_23,

I am glad that keychain rebuilding worked for you (as for other customers too).

There is no need to report the issue, your keychain was probably created by the old version of 1P4Win.

I was very concerned about 1P4W support for Dropbox syncing with 1P4A and spent the whole

day Sunday Oct 3 doing 1P4W testing, how it created/maintained context.js and I found that the

latest production release was working fine (hope you had a chance to read my Forum posting on that).

Also make sure you have the latest 1P4W on your PC, if not ,upgrade it with the fresh copy from the Agile site.

    Best Regards,

    Gene

It was created by version 125 which is only a week old. They're now up to 127 (which I'm running).

Well..., my testing was done on 1P 4 Win 1.0.0.122 and I didn't see any discrepancies with contents.js file when I tested 1P4W 2 weeks ago.

I'd like to ask you to keep an eye on your 1P4Win and let me know if you find that number of elements in contents.js file

is inconsistent with the number of items you see in your application.

For example, for each file with .1Password extension you should see something like this in context.js file:

    ["04790174E85044B3B74FC4D05EC91A4E","webforms.WebForm","Spainexpat","spainexpat.com",1285086755,"",0,"N"]

where 04790174E85044B3B74FC4D05EC91A4E.1password file is a secure item you have in your 1Password.agilekeychain/data/default folder

The last "N" means you item is active, "Y" would mean it is placed in Trash but not permanently deleted yet.

In other words, all files with .1password extension should be registered in contents.js file.

If it is not the case, try to describe your steps in details and let me know, I will do more testing

and coordinate efforts with 1P4Win team.

Thank you in advance and best regards,

    Gene
