Oh Please turn off the keypad sound by default!!!!

I am a huge fan of 1Password. But please..... please turn off the sound. I woke up half of bay area entering my unlock PIN after the upgrade. I have to go check the USGIS site now. Now everyone knows I have a 4 digit pin as well <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />. I know I can turn it off *after* I get in. Turning down the volume control on the phone did not reduce the sound btw.

    Hi Harry Warrior,

No worries, if sound bothers you so much, go to 1P4A Menu->Preferences -> and select a checkbox "Enable Silent Mode". This way application won't produce any sound.

I have another recommendation which I use myself:

Install a tiny application called "Mini-Info" (available for free on Market) - that is one of my favorite applications, I am sure you will love it as well.

This application has an option to adjust phone volume separately for Ringing, Notification,Media and Alarm which I found extremely useful.

Adjust notification volume setting it to the desirable level.Notice that an application sound level won't interfere with ringer setting.

Please let me know if you need more info.

  • Gene,

I'd have to agree with Harry here, maybe have the sound disabled by default, or lower the volume of the actual sound file being used? It's a nice touch, and I love the new unlock screen, but the sound can be a bit annoying.

    Just my thoughts,

    Hi Stu,

    Thank you for your input.

Point taken, I will probably need to make default application sounds not that loud and, if that is not possible, default sounds to off in the next release.

To me those clicks sound like a music but of course, they may be way too loud to some users in many situations.

In the meantime, could you let me know if you tried to adjust phone sounds (I mean Notification sound which I use) with Mini-Info and how it works for you ?

It works great on my Nexus 1, I can set 1P4A just barely audible if I choose to do so, but sound adjustment may be model-specific.

    Thank you

    Best Regards,

    Gene

  • Gene,

I'll get onto that tonight or tomorrow, I'm travelling down to London for a meeting so will have plenty of time to kill on the train <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

    Thanks,

    Hello everyone,

I made an enhancement to the 1P4A: I added a notification sound volume adjustment option.

There will be 7 notification sound levels (ranging from barely audible to very loud).

    - default will be set to "Low". On my Nexus 1,the implementation works OK (although there may be some model specific peculiarities).

Please stay tuned for the 1P4A update coming soon.

(I am currently looking at SD support feature, will also come in the future release).

    Best Regards,

    Gene
