How Does Bookmarklet Update?
Hey - maybe a dumb question but how does the Safari bookmarklet for iphone/ipad stay updated? Do I have to open 1Password on my mac, connect my iphone, and hit the update button or is there an automatic way to keep in sync? I'm using the dropbox solution which works great for the application itself - just wondering if keeping the bookmarklet in sync is a manual process or if there is an automated method.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi mojo5000,
Welcome to the forums! Thanks for asking about this.
The "1Password Logins" bookmarklet that is created by 1Password for Mac needs to be manually updated by clicking the "Update Now" button whenever a login is added or changed. This will update the bookmarklet in Safari on your Mac. From there you can sync the updated bookmarklet to Mobile Safari via USB in iTunes or MobileMe over-the-air syncing.
Realistically, I do not know if there will be much further development on the "1Password Logins" bookmarklet. We never say "never," by we have been pushing a far more secure alternative much more lately.
Click this link on your iPhone: Look Up in 1Password bookmarklet (iPhone setup)
or
Click this link on your iPad: Look Up in 1Password bookmarklet (iPad setup)
You can click those links on their respective devices to set it up. If you are syncing your bookmarks via MobileMe or iTunes, you only need to set it up once as it will be synced with the rest of your bookmarks. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Once you have installed it, the "Look Up…" bookmarklet never needs to be updated as it looks up the latest data directly in 1Password on your iOS device.
I hope that helps. Please let me know!Flag 0 -
Thanks so much for the quick reply, Khad. I don't mind manually updating, I just didn't want to do it that way if there was an alternative! Thanks for making a great product. I use it every day on my mac, ipad, and iphone and it has become indispensable to me - even the bookmarklet.
