Firefox errors

I am using the latest beta of 1Password 3 (Version 3.5.0.BETA-7 (build 30785)) and Firefox 3.6.12

I am seeing a LOT of errors in Console.app that I have tracked down to the 1Password extension. When the extension is loaded the errors appear nonstop. When I disable it the errors stop.

Here is a sample although they never stop:

I was getting the same errors with the latest stable release (which is why I tried the beta).

Anyone have any suggestions?

    Nothing, eh?

Well, aside from filling up the console with thousands upon thousands of these errors, it does not seem to be causing any other outward problems with the functionality of the browser or the plugin.

    Still, I'd really prefer to see it resolved. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

    Hey SaSaSushi,

Thanks for letting us know. I have passed this along to the devs to look at. I'll post back as I uncover details. I just didn't want to keep you in suspense too long! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

This is very mysterious. If anyone else is seeing this as well, please do let us know.

SaSaSushi, would you mind sending us a diagnostics report? This will include more log and configuration information. You can generate the report from 1Password on your Mac by clicking the Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report... menu item and then email it to support@agile.ws.

Please include a link back to this discussion in your email so that we can "connect the dots."

    Cheers,

Thanks very much! I just created the diagnostic report and mailed it off. Actually, while it is not causing any apparent problems in functionality it IS creating humongous console log files.

I hope you guys can track it down. I've tried everything I can think of. The problem persists in V3.5 which was just released.
  • Just a quick update on this issue. I seem to have resolved it at last. Something in the Firefox profile had gotten corrupted. I totally trashed the profile and reinstalled Firefox. Then I just dragged back the extensions directory from a system backup and used Xmarks to resync my bookmarks.

The annoying error is gone at last. All I get now is the single message that 1Password has loaded the keychain.

    HALLELUJAH!

Now to delete all my console logs and reclaim 50Gb. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I will follow up by mail with this information to Agile Support as well.

    Cheers.

I am actually seeing this same error myself ..

and tracked it down to the 1password addon .. (using 1Password Version 3.5.3 (build 30812) )

while I don't have time today to try rebuilding my entire firefox setup/profile .. I will certainly make a note of it..

Like the original poster.. i am seeing countless entries in my console logs ..
Hi Ericg, welcome to the forums.

We have narrowed this down to a corrupted file somewhere in the user's profile. Trashing the Profile will often resolve this. You may be able to use Firefox Sync addon to sync your settings data to a new profile which could save you time. You should also make a backup of the profile somewhere, just in case you forgot something.

Here's our guide on how to create a new Profile:
I hope this help in saving some time for you.

The similar symptom occurred in my environment.

    OS ; Mac OS X(Leopard:10.5.8 )

    Firefox ; Minefield/4.0b9pre

Add-on; enable "1Password v3.5.3" only . (However, the profile is not a new thing.)

The following correspondences were taken as a result of a variety of verifying it.

The item of "browser.dom.window.dump.enabled" was deleted from "prefs.js" of the profile.

Though it doesn't understand when this item was added with which add-on.

This is a great find! Thanks for letting us know Ryo!

    From Mozilla's window.dump documentation, it sounds like the browser.dom.window.dump.enabled setting was working perfectly fine <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> It just wasn't what you wanted <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

I was also getting flooded with these messages. No need to edit the config file directly to fix it. With the browser running enter 'about:config' in the browser URL box and search for the browser.dom.window.dump.enabled option. Double click where it says 'true' to toggle it to 'false'.

Ahhhh... so much better on my log files. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
