In Preferences the security menu is greyed out

I bought this program because of the automatic login for my sites but when I have to put a master password in before I can use automatic login it defeats my purpose.

I tried to go to preference..security to check never prompt for password but it is greyed out. I tried to login with master password then try the security menu again but it would not load even. There probably is a simple solution for this that I am missing. A little help please <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> TIA

    Hi Laura,

Welcome to the forums! I'm sorry that you're having this problem.

For security reasons, by default, 1Password does require you to type in your master password when you first open it or access it from your browser. If you want your secure data to be tied to your OS X keychain by enabling "Never prompt for master password," please make sure that your OS X user account has a password. Otherwise, anyone who has access to your computer (or steals it) can view all of your most sensitive information.

There are also many other ways to achieve a bit more convenience without going quite that far. Please take a look at our Security Settings documentation. You might consider merely increased the "Lock after [X] minutes of inactivity" setting.

That said, 1Password must be unlocked in order to make any changes to the security settings. Please make sure 1Password is unlocked and let me know how it goes.

    Thanks!
