Feature Request: Functional toolbar

Options
Forgive me if this has been requested/discussed. I went back a few months and did not notice anything.

I'm trying to simplify my life and use a single password manager between my Mac and PC. I've previously used RoboForm on my PC, and 1Password on the Mac. Since I use Safari on my Mac, I'm trying to go 1Password all the way around.

Something I miss heavily from RoboForm is that RoboForm has a functional toolbar that you can drive with the mouse pointer. Land on a site with saved info, it shows you that login name and you can just click it to fill. This saves 1 step over 1P where you have to click the button to get the menu, and then press fill. I don't use the KB shortcut much on my PC because it's very wateful fo time to move my hand off the mouse because of proximity of KB to mouse.

Along the same lines, since the RoboForm toolbar is functional, you can browse logins right from the toolbar without having to do a click to make a menu popup. The 1P icon in Safari is similar ot RoboForm in this regard, in that it opens an attached menu from the 1P icon in Safari, but the IE icon does not do this, it's a separate menu all together and it always opens center on the screen, which means time wasted moving your mouse around.

I know I might sound crazy with the whole "a few clicks and mouse movements waste time" thing. but it really does waste time for me, and cause annoyances in trying to convert me from X product to Y product.

Another feature that I liked of RoboForm is it's pop-up window feature. When you come to a site with saved info, a box pops up with a pre-selected best match login (if there are multiple) and you ca press fill or fill/submit from that pop-up window. It makes it quick and mindless to get your logins.

  • HDClown, thanks for those suggestions!

I'm a former Roboform user, too, and I don't know that there's much difference between moving the pointer to the 1P button in the browser toolbar and moving the pointer to the Roboform toolbar—20 or 30 pixels?—but the extra click on the 1P button is real, and I'll grant you that Rooboform's automatic offer of available Passcards is a little addictive.

We will continue to improve 1Password for Windows for...well, ever <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> and it helps us to know what you'd find useful, so please keep the suggestions coming!
