1PasswordAnywhere

<div class="IPBDescription">Problem with German umlaut in master password</div>Hello,

I use 1Password 3 for the Mac and also the iPhone version. I would like to use 1PasswordAnywhere, but I have this problem:

If my master password does not contain any German umlaut, everything works fine. However, when an umlaut is contained in the master password, I always get the message "Incorrect password" when I use the browser interface. Is there a workaround for this issue or is it just not possible yet to use 1PasswordAnywhere containing a German umlaut?

Thanks for any help!

    Hi F M,

Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry that you are having this problem.

Thanks for such a clear description of the problem. At this time, I would have to recommend foregoing any characters with umlauts or other diacritical marks in your master password. I thought I recalled this being addressed previously but will raise the issue again with the developers. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Could you tell me which version and build of 1Password you are running (1Password > About 1Password)?

    Thanks!
  • Hi Khad,

ok, then I have wait with the usage of 1PasswordAnywhere until this is fixed. The version of 1Password I am running is "Version 3.4.4 (build 30767)".

    Thanks!
  • Hi again,

I just installed the update (Version 3.5.0 (build 30795)). The problem still exists. But I did not expect you to be that fast <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />

We are agile <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />, but it is not fixed yet in 3.5.0. In the meantime, perhaps using a different (or only slightly changed password without the umlaut) would be a solution.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer right now. Thank you for your patience.
