Reset failed password attempts

Hi,



I have read somewhere that the password database gets wiped after 10 failed master password attempts. I have chosen a complicated password for myself and frequently punch in the wrong one resulting in many failed master password attempts. Is there any way of resetting these failed attempts? I think the failed attempts count should be reset after I punch in the right password but it doesn't and I'm getting closer and closer to 10...

Welcome to the forums!



Your 1Password data is not wiped after 10 failed password attempts. That is an option for your iOS device, though. Upon setting a device passcode (unrelated to 1Password), you have the [i]option[/i] to wipe the entire device after 10 failed password attempts. This is a feature built-in to iOS by Apple. It is optional, and we have no control over your settings outside of 1Password.



The failed password attempts count in 1Password counts from the last successful entry, so once you enter the correct password, the count is reset.

That's good news, but the count doesn't reset when I enter the correct password (in 1Password that is). How can that be?

I've never seen that happen before, but please try restarting your iPhone. Hold down both the Sleep and Home buttons until you see the Apple logo. (It will take a little bit.
