<div class="IPBDescription">requires 1Password 3.5.1.BETA-2</div>Hi there,

Now that Firefox 4 is feature complete (Firefox 4 beta 7 - with frozen APIs), will you be supporting the betas leading up to the release of Firefox 4? Please tell me yes <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Hi there,

    1Password 3.5 doens't work with Firefox 4 beta 7... any news please? <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Firefox 4b6 worked like a charm, but since beta7 support is very dead. Shortcut not working, menu not working. Would be cool, to see support for this. I know, it's a beta but it looks great and since beta6 worked it can be done. Maybe you can have a look at it and tell us how likely support will be and about when it could come.

We are aware of the issues with Firefox 4 beta 7 and are working to address them in an upcoming release. We are glad that the featureset is now frozen. It is just too bad they changed so much in beta 7. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

    Thanks for your patience and support! We love Firefox and can't wait to have Firefox 4 and 1Password working in peace and harmony. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_star.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(*)' /> <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sun.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(sun)' /> <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_heart.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(h)' /> <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_flower.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(f)' /> <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_handshake.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(handshake)' /> <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/emoticon-0137-clapping.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='(clap)' />
  • The latest FF4 beta broke 1password. I've tried enabling/disabling, still complains. See enclosed:

Glad to see it wasn't just me. I really like 4.0b7 with its near Chrome-like speed but I had to go back to 3.6.12 for now. I gotta have my 1Password. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

    Hello Agile devs ...

I think it worth noting that 1Password has not really worked with the dropdown/popup style authentication interfaces for some time in the FF4/1P3.5 beta cycle. I know there are other things to keep track of, but this does cover a number of the pages I visit often - mostly private or internal company sites.

If there's any more info I can provide, please let me know.

Cheers! (and thanks again for all the great features on a great app!)

We are working hard to have 1Password fully functional with Firefox 4 (including the HTTP authentication prompts you mention).

Well deserved Khad. 1Password is one of the few paid applications out there I was glad to get.

Well, the good news is that our developers are working incredibly hard to get 1Password working again with Firefox 4 B7, however I can't give a timeframe for exactly when this will be available.

Firefox 4 brings great new features, but also some major changes to the extensions framework we use to integrate 1Password, and as some of you will now this seems to be a moving target during the Betas. We only have limited resources here and as such we have to balance these to make sure everyone is happy.

So, watch this space for an update, or actually to be more precise watch the 1Password auto-updater, making sure you have Betas enabled by going to 1Password > Preferences > Updates and checking 'Include Beta versions'.

Thank you so much for your hard work. Just upgraded to Firefox 4 in order to take advantage of the automatic bookmarks etc. syncing between computers. SyncPlaces was driving me CRAZY! Anyhow, I was very sad to see 1Password not working after the move from firefox 3 to 4. I hope you guys can get it working soon! Good luck!

  • Hi McFly,

Thanks for the kind words, we're certainly excited to see all the improvements in Firefox 4, but please do remember it's still in Beta <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Hopefully we'll have an update soon to bring back support to the latest Firefox 4 Beta 7 release.

    Hey stu,

thanks for your reply and @agile thanks for the quick beta update for 1P now supporting FF4b7. I really enjoy the new beta and now I can fully enjoy it <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Just want to shout out a big thanks to the 1Password crew for their support and updates!
  • I installed version 3.5 (build 30795) of the Firefox 4 addon and it doesn't appear to work for me in FF4B7. When I click to fill in the info, it doesn't fill in the user/pass and just leaves those two fields blank.

    Any ideas/suggestions?

    Thank you!

my version of 1password reads as : Version 3.5.1.BETA-2 (build 30798). you may have to check the 'include beta versions' option under the update tab.

Thanks - I just installed the beta version and unfortunately that doesn't work either <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />. Now the problem is different. When I press the 1P button in the browser, the generated menu isn't even displayed. Hopefully this will be fixed soon <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

    Hi ffuser,

It sounds like Firefox is caching some data from a previous version. You can fix this by completely uninstalling the Firefox extension and reinstalling it:

    1. Make sure Firefox is not running.

    2. Launch 1Password from your /Applications folder

    3. Click 1Password > Preferences > Browsers

    4. Uncheck the box next to Firefox 4

    5. Launch Firefox and click Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. Make sure that 1Password is *not* listed.

    6. Step #5 is the most important step so I'll repeat it again here <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> Launch Firefox and make sure 1Password is not there.

    7. If 1Password is appearing in the Extensions window, click the Uninstall button on the 1Password extension and quit Firefox.

    8. Return to your 1Password window and check the box next to Firefox

    9. Restart Firefox and click Tools > Add-ons > Extensions. Make sure that 1Password is listed.

After following these steps, the Firefox extension will have forgotten everything about previous versions and should work correctly.
  • I was v. hopeful of the latest 1P working with FF4.0b7....

Alas, I now don't even get the number of matches shown on the 'Fill' drop down.

I have removed and reinstalled the extension as per the previous post... no joy.

    Any suggestions?

    cheers

I'm going to close this thread since the Firefox 4 beta 7 extension is only available in 1Password 3 BETA builds at the moment and discussion should really be in the 1Password 3 BETA builds forum so as not to confuse non-beta users.

    See you there! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
