Popup Log-ins?

<div class="IPBDescription">How to sign in via Pop-ups?</div>Is it possible to use 1Password on websites that require logging in via a pop-up window? For example, the only way to log-in on Fast Company's website is to manually fill in you username and password on a pop-up window in Firefox. Although my 1Password icon is active when this pop-up window is open, 1Password does seem able to insert my username and password in the pop-up window fields.

T-mobile is another example of this. You click on the login and the popup comes up but you can't do the keyboard shortcut. You need to select from the menubar which login you want to use.

    Hi AMCarter3 and Edgar,

I'm sorry you are having this problem. Please try saving the login manually like this:

    1. Enter your username and password, but DO NOT submit the form.

    2. Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and choose Save Login.

    3. Set the Action field to Create New Login (or to Replace <login-name>, to update an existing Login item).

    4. Click the Save button.

Using the above technique I was able to save and fill sample logins at:

    http://www.fastcompany.com/login and http://www.t-mobile.com/

Manually saving a login can be useful for logins that are either problematic to begin with or were once working but have since stopped. Doing this allows 1Password to refresh everything it "knows" about the page. Login pages often change as websites are updated and this can be a necessary but very useful tip. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Thanks!

And if you can't fill in the data via shortcut or the 1PW button, try the contextual menu. That is, ctrl-click or right-click to get a menu with a 1PW item. Certainly works on some sites.

Interesting, danco. Is there a URL where you find differing behavior between the contextual menu and the keyboard shortcut or toolbar button?

Occasionally (sorry, can't remember where) I have come across a site where the window doesn't have a toolbar. But the contextual menu still works. That's what I was referring to.

Ah. The keyboard shortcut should still work on a pop-up window as well as the contextual menu. Thanks for the clarification! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
