[feature request] Ability to match 1Password identity fields with website input fields
in Mac
As a satisfied user of 1Password, I want to make this product even better. I have looked through the Support website, didn't find my topic addressed and thus am submitting it as a feature request.
Ever so often, I encounter a website that uses non-standard input field names for billing info, so that by using the fill out identity feature of 1Password not all fields get filled out.
Here is an example for a set on input field names of one website:
<input type="text" name="billTo_firstName" id="billTo_firstName" size="12" value="" />
<input type="text" name="billTo_lastName" id="billTo_lastName" size="16" value="" />
<input type="text" name="billTo_company" id="billTo_company" size="30" value="" />
<input type="text" name="billTo_street1" id="billTo_street1" size="50" value="" />
<input type="text" name="billTo_street2" id="billTo_street2" size="50" value="" /></td>
<input type="text" name="billTo_city" id="billTo_city" size="16" value="">
<input type="text" name="billTo_state" id="billTo_state" maxlength="20" size="2" value="">
<input type="text" name="billTo_postalCode" id="billTo_postalCode" size="5" value="">
<input type="hidden" name="billTo_country" id="billTo_country" value="us" />
<input type="text" name="billTo_phoneNumber" id="billTo_phoneNumber" size="15" value="" />
<input type="text" name="billTo_email" id="billTo_email" size="30" value="" /></td>
1Password manages to fill out all except:

the zip code field "billTo_postalCode" which remains empty

the phone number flied "billTo_phoneNumber" which was filled in with the text "country.us"
It would be nice to add these field names to be recognized when filling identities or enable a way to match the fields in a form one encounters.

Hi Henning C-F,
Welcome to the forums!
With millions of websites out there that are all coded differently, it is very difficult to get 1Password to fill in data on all of them perfectly. With that said, we're excited to tackle this very difficult problem, and form filling is something that we are constantly working to improve. Future updates of 1Password will increase the accuracy of the form filler for both credit cards and identities. We will also consider allowing some customization in this regard. Thanks for letting us know it would be useful to you! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
Thanks!Flag 0 -
+1 for me ! :
I have been much satisfied for several years with 1Password except for the identity / credit card form filling action, which has never worked correctly for me (only accurately filling few fields and either leaving blank or misfilling other fields) on any site as far as I can remember ... I was assuming it was because I use it mostly on french web sites but I see that it's not the reason
It would be really great if you could find a solution for a next version ...
thanks in advance, greetings

Hello, olivierattree, and welcome to the forums!
It could be that your forms are not filling correctly because they use French words to name the form fields. Most forms fill fine for me, but we do have occasional problems. If it *never* works for you, though, then it is likely because of the field naming. Thanks for bringing this up!Flag 0
