How to gift a 1Pasword 3x license to someone that already has a 2x license

I want to gift a 1Password 3x license to a friend that already has a 2x license. After filling his details in the gift form i get an error stating that my friend already has a 1Password license. How can i overcome this?

I want to offer him a 1Password 3x license keeping his current details (Name and e-mail address).

I'm sorry for the trouble here, our gifting system doesn't allow you to send a gift to someone who's already on our system. However, if your friend has another e-mail address, or if they're using gmail they can just add +1p3 to the end of the their alias (before @gmail.com) and you should be able to gift them the license.
