Restore Data File from Backup?

If someone was to get there hands on my 1password backup file would they be able to simply download 1password and restore the file?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say that at some point it's going to ask them for my password, correct?

How does it work?

A restored backup file is identical in every way to the data file it was originally created from. This includes the master password. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

This is actually one of the methods we suggest employing if you ever change your master password and forget it. Restore a previous backup that is protected by your old master password — which you do remember — and you're in business! An attacker has no idea what your password is in either case. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />
