My hard drive was replaced. I have backups on a timemachine, but i cant seem to find the 1Password Keychain. I looked for files in: user/Library/Keychains without luck. Also, not sure how to proceed with in installation...do i click 'find existing' data file?

  • If your looking to restore your 1password backups I believe they are stored here by default.

    Library>Application Support>1password>Backups
  • Forgot to add,

To restore your 1password backup go to file>Restore Data File from Backup... and select the backup file to restore.

Just a tip, but if you have a Dropbox folder, you can change the location of the backups to the Dropbox folder. For example, I keep mine in ~/Documents/Dropbox/1Password Backups/. This way if your local backup drive(s) crash, you can still access your 1P backups through Dropbox.

Just make sure that if you have a free account you don't set 1Password to keep too many backups. I have mine set to back up weekly with up to 10 backups.

P.S. This doesn't cause any conflicts with iPhone/iPod/iPad syncing since the backup files use a different file extension.

    Thanks for the tip, teedoff! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

For those wishing to conserve their Dropbox space, consider that storing your data file in Dropbox already creates versioned backups on Dropbox (without depleting your available Dropbox space). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />

    Cheers!

The only problem I have with the versioned backups that Dropbox keeps on their website is it shows when each individual file was changed within the .agilekeychain file. It doesn't tell you where the file resides.

Not very helpful when you need to restore to an earlier version of the keychain.

Do you know of a way to restore the entire keychain to an earlier date through Dropbox?
