Notes crash 1Password

I believe I've found a bug in 1Password Pro for iPhone. Today I attempted to log into one of my accounts on a banking website from my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.1) and 1Password Pro crashed out to the springboard. I tried my other login to the same website and it logged in fine to their mobile site. I compared the two 1Password logins and everything looked fine. I created a new login for the login that crashes and it worked fine. The only difference (other than the login and password) between the original two logins turned out to be that the bad one had entries in the Notes field. I copied the notes to the new login and it crashed 1Password. I took the notes out and it worked fine.

The original login works fine from 1Password on my MacBook Pro and 1Password on my Windows PC.

Your help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

Please ensure that you are running the latest version (3.5.4) of 1Password Pro. Is it the particular contents of the note or does the issue occur regardless of the note field contents? Is it just a particular URL or all logins?

Please let me know. We would love to resolve this. Thanks!

    Khad,

I am indeed running the latest version (v3.5.4).

I have 9 lines of text in the Notes field (approximately 300 characters). The notes consist of my email address and three security questions and answers.

    - I tried just putting the word Test in the Notes field and it logged in okay.

    - I added the word Test to the beginning of the existing notes and it crashed.

    - I copied the notes into my Starbucks account login and it crashed.

    - I removed the notes from my Starbucks account login and it logged in okay.

Could it be that there is a limit to how many characters you can populate in the Notes? Are there any special characters not allowed in the Notes field?

    Regards,

    Ed

Thanks for the update, Ed. I am having a difficult time reproducing this. I have a very long note stored in a login, so my gut says that it is not a length issue. Are there any "special characters" in the note? I'd love to get this resolved. Please let me know.

    Khad,

Below is a representation of the notes in the login. The <> are not in the notes. All of the special characters are as is.

    Email: <email>@yahoo.com

Security Question 1: What is your favorite All-Time Movie? Answer

Security Question 2: What is the name of the high school you attended? Answer

Security Question 3: What is the name of your favorite all-time singer: Answer

I hope this information helps. FYI, these notes are only a problem with logging in on my iPhone 4. They don't affect the login from my Mac or PC.

    Regards,

    Khad,

The notes in the iPhone app don't recognize hard returns that are entered in the Mac version (ie. one line runs directly into the next). I started eliminating characters and the crashing stopped after eliminating the .com in the email address (1st line of the notes). However, when I began adding the characters back on, it wouldn't crash. I don't know if this helps or makes it worse. Strange stuff.

That is exactly what I found. I'm trying to boil it down into a clear bug report. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I'll make sure we resolve this as soon as we can. No promise for time frame, but I really appreciate the feedback! I am surprised no one else has noticed this?!

    Thanks again.
