Feature Request: Show folder location in search

For those who use folders in 1Password, it would be a great help if a Search for a Login item--in addition to finding the Login item for the purpose of logging into somewhere--revealed the path to the Login item's folder (for times when the user has lost track of its location, such as can easily happen when it's several layers down in the folder structure). I expect this would be easy to implement.

    Welcome to the forums, Guffee!

    Thanks for the suggestion.

This is something we will consider improving in a future version. In the meantime, please consider using the Traditional or Widescreen layouts (View > Layout) with the folder column enabled (View > Columns > Folder). Also, tags are displayed in the item information (visible even in the Shelves layout) and may be a better fit in some circumstances anyway.

    I hope that helps. Please let me know. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Thanks, very much. I'm afraid I'd never figured out the "View > Columns > Folder" configuration, which solves my problem nicely. I don't suppose my original suggestion would hurt any, though I see it's unnecessary. Thanks, again.

You suggestion has come up before, and it is on our radar. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I've separated my 1password items into a structured folder system, so that I can go right to "Credit Cards" or "Bank Account" or "Shippers" if I have a question or problem. But sometimes unexpected things happen and I have to search for items that should be in these folders but aren't.

So the search feature is very good at finding them. But it doesn't tell me where it found them, so I don't know what the underlying problem is. And sometimes I've trashed a previous item, and it's cited in the search results along with the legit one -- and then I don't know which one to choose. A [Where Is This?] button would be a great help. Or use a banner at the foot of the 1password window to show the path of any selected item, just like the Mac's finder windows do, would be very helpful.

Thanks, Khad! That does exactly what I've been wishing for. Silly of me not to think of the View menu... <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
