g- bit worried about whether I always have to have internet access working to faciliatte 1password3 always working (I sometimes travel for weeks out of connect space)

good news: just managed 200 items import from firefox.

h- I spent ages looking for "import from osx keychain"... not found anything

That's it for now.. ok no it's not, I just had to click my mouse 563 x 2 times to import safari passwords..the "always allow" button, didn't.

suggestion, separate the "safari and camino" import description into two; the human eye sees what it expects to see, which is one browser per choice. Took me ages to find the "camino" import icon!

High hopes here.

My reason for purchase is I use many browsers and it is a real nuisance that they do not share their passwords and usernames between each other, right now I am tryiog out rockmelt and can barely use it for the lack of passwords (and I have to look up each one manually, so it halts my work flow).

Why do I use multiple browsers?

1 Multiple i.d. access to the same web site which allows only one unique login per browser

2 some browsers work on some web sites and other don't.

3 so I can put discrete browsers in separate "spaces" , home work, office work, play time etc - splitting browser windows never works.

Very impressed with Rockmelt for it's method of keeping me apprised of what's going on aon all my sites of interest that have updates; it achieves this without being intrusive. Apart from the lack of passwords which is stopping me using it.

Nice to be here <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

    Welcome to the forums, Anthony!

    a. Yep. The first digit in 3.5.2 is the one to look at. 1Password 3 is up to version 3.5.2.

    b. It is not necessary. I personally did not since there was a lot of junk that I just didn't want cluttering up my 1Password data file. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />

    c. If you decide to import (File > Import…), select the "Safari and Camino" from the Import Format drop-down list.

    d. Boom.

The last version of Netscape Browser was released on October 15, 2007 and has not been supported for at least a couple years by Netscape, but we do support Chrome. It's built in (Preferences > Browsers). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

You can import data at any time from a variety of sources, but with 1Password's browser integration it will automatically prompt you to save a password whenever you enter one in your browser. To avoid confusion and for better security, we recommend disabling your browsers' built-in password management.

We suggest Dropbox storage/syncing in addition to 1Password's own backup feature (which is enabled by default).

1Password stores your data locally, so no Internet connection is required. Even if you are syncing with Dropbox, the active copy of your data is always stored locally and only securely synced when a network connection is available. Internet, schminternet!

Sounds like you found it after all. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' /> The "Allways Allow" is in reference to always allowing 1Password access to that particular piece of information. For better or worse, Apple has not provided a way to grab data en masse from the OS X keychain with a single authorization. Consider that this is more secure and does only need to be done once.

One of the many benefits of using 1Password is cross-browser password storage. You might also appreciate cross-platform and mobile syncing; Identity and Credit Card filling; secure note and software license storage; and an in-browser strong password generator.

    Enjoy it in good health. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_bigsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-D' />
