Dropbox Doesn't Create a File on the Dropbox website

<div class="IPBDescription">I have installed Dropbox on my Macbook and on my iPhone.</div>I have installed Dropbox on my Macbook and on my iPhone. On the Macbook the system says that it is syncing, but I can't find the keychain on the Dropbox website and my iPhone cannot find "the datafile on the Dropbox. I think this is similar to http://forum.agile.ws/index.php?/topic/2276-1password-on-iphoneipad-not-able-to-locate-dropbox-keychain/page__p__17306__hl__dropbox__fromsearch__1#entry17306, but that has not helped me. My iPhone cannot find the file either.

  • The way I did it, was to create a folder in Dropbox named "1Password". Then I told 1Password to use that location for the vault. On the iPhone, I believe it noticed that there was a Dropbox and that there was a 1Password folder in it. I still have to request that it sync with Dropbox on the phone, but on the desktop it does it on the fly.

I have been trying your suggestion this morning, but I am not having much success. I the ".ws" file also hidden on the Dropbox Website? It would help if the file wasn't hidden on my machine. forcing me to use Unix where I considered myself a guru 15 years ago, but age and years of using Point and Click have done their damage. I think I'll back away for a few hours and see if my mind doesn't work better.
  • When I open my Dropbox using the web interface, I see the following:

I am not sure exactly what the hidden file is for, maybe someone at Agile knows. But it works for me. The reason I share the 1Password folder is so that I can share the same vault with my wife and her copy of 1Password.

Welcome to the forums, JPMcG. I'm sorry you are having this problem.

Have you moved your data file to your Dropbox folder from within 1Password? If it is already in your Dropbox folder, try double-clicking "1Password.agilekeychain" in Finder to ensure that it is the active data file in 1Password.

As ajahn pointed out, you will be able to easily see the .ws.agile.1Password.settings file on the Dropbox site (without any tricks or Terminal commands). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

Please let me know how it turns out.
