Problem with syncing - can't delete unwanted passwords

Running into a strange problem, believe it might be Dropbox related. My daughter has her own account on our computers, with her own DropBox account, email etc. When she goes to delete an unwanted password (she has a bunch of extras from autosaving but not autofilling <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />, it immediately (after watching dropbox sync) returns! Can not empty trash of 1Password either.

Have tried rebuilding and emptying cache to no avail.

Looking for suggestions.

Thanks.

Using intel iMac, 10.6.5, 1Password 3 (Family lic).Version 3.5.3 (build 30812), Dropbox version 0.7.110

This is a strange problem indeed! I need to apologize in advance for the long winded response, but I need your help digging deeper to see what is happening.

I guess the very first thing I would do is isolate this problem to a single computer and Dropbox account. Make sure there are no iPhones/etc syncing with this Dropbox account while this testing is happening. While 1Password should sync fine with multiple devices, I want to keep things as simple as possible.

Once that is done, the next thing I'd do is look at what is happening to the affected files at this time. Edit one of the items you want to remove (to force an update) and watch Dropbox sync. Now open the Dropbox > Recently Changed Files menu and select the most recent entry to open Finder. You now know the full filename of the entry and can copy it to TextEdit as you'll need it soon.

Now open dropbox.com and open the 1Password.agilekeychain folder, enter the data > default subfolder, and find this file. You can select Previous versions from the dropdown menu to the right of the file name to see all the changes made to the file. This will come in handy to see what's happening <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Whew! That was a lot of setup, but now it's time for the fun part. Go ahead and delete this item in 1Password and let Dropbox sync. 1Password simply adds a "trashed":true attribute in the file so you should be able to see that in Dropbox. If you don't, look at the Previous Versions page and see if you see what's causing the change to be reversed.

Please let me know how the investigation goes. Knowing if the file is never updated on Dropbox, updated once, or updated twice will help us understand better what is happening.
