Data lost after upgrade - possible to copy specific file from backup?
Hello all,
After upgrading to the latest version of 1Password, all my data were deleted.
I did not backup anything before because I did not expect a routine upgrade to delete all my data. I also did not read the online guide which warns of this possibility because I never anticipated such a problem.
Anyway I have a backup of my own iPhone data via Time Machine. I read the online guide which suggests copying a specific 'Backup' folder to restore my iPhone to a state before the data deletion occurred.
I am not inclined to do this because this backup that I have is quite dated. I haven't entered any new entries for 1Password, but have many changes to my iPhone. So the backup would help me with 1Password, but leave me with a very outdated iPhone otherwise.
Since I have the iPhone data, is it possible for me to copy one specific file (or files) to the current iPhone? I am jailbroken, so I have access to the root directories. I am sure it is possible to just restore this app, and not the whole iPhone?
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

I'm really sorry to hear about what happened to your data. This is why we try to recommend people to backup as often as they can, not just 1Password but their iOS devices via iTunes as well. Routine update/upgrades is usually something that people never expect to result in data loss and unfortunately, anything can result in a data loss. It's just better to be safe than sorry and performing backups will let you be safer.
Unfortunately, there is not a lot of options left that you can do. Restoring a file via the jailbroken filesystem is not guaranteed to work as we're dealing with a lot of encryption here that could corrupt the data if you try to do this.
One thing that you could do but not guaranteed to work either, however I was able to have a few users do this successfully and that is:
1) Back up that old backup file (for redundancy)
2) Create a backup of the new iPhone via ITunes,
3) Restore to the old backup that you have.
4) Open 1Password and if the data is intact, perform a backup via the built-in backup system. This guide will help you do that.
5) After the backup is done, restore the iPhone to the new backup that you performed back in Step 2
6) You should be able to restore the data from the backup that you created in Step 4. The same guide will help you to restore it as well.
