Dropbox 1.0

I just read that Dropbox has been updated to version 1.0 and is supposed to be greatly improved. I run 1Password on a Mac (my primary machine) and also on a PC. I'm currently syncing with Dropbox. Could someone offer step by step instructions for upgrading on both machines and setting up syncing for 1Password. I really don't want to hose my passwords and quite frankly can't remember exactly how I set things up when I first started using the syncing services. I did a search and couldn't find anything but if this has been addressed could you please provide a link? I don't have much experience with syncing other than the initial setup I did when I first started using Dropbox.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Hey, Doug! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
If Dropbox syncing is already set up and working well for you, you can upgrade to the new version of Dropbox without disrupting anything. I just did. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_bigsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-D' />
If you do not yet have Dropbox syncing set up, please follow the instructions in our "Automatic Syncing Using Dropbox" guide.
I hope that helps. Enjoy the new selective sync feature in the latest version of Dropbox. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';-)' />Flag 0 -
Thanks much for the help! Did you delete the old version on both machines? I assume you can delete after the upgrade is complete or does the upgrade overwrite the old versions?

Hi Doug,

Simply Quit Dropbox from the menubar
download the new installer.
drag it to the applications folder (this replaces the previous version)
launch dropbox
There is no need to uninstall anything prior to the upgrade
Of note : The new version grabs extended attributes etc upon the upgrade so you will see increased cpu usage and a lot of syncing going on until it sends all this new data to the Dropbox servers.Flag 0 -
Thanks much for the help! I did as instructed and all is well. Still can't open the Dropbox application on the Mac. Perhaps this is because it loads at log-in? I thought there would preferences to set.
Thanks again!Flag 0 -

What do you mean Doug, ?
Is it running and you simply cannot click the menubar icon, and get it to open. This can happen sometimes, to remedy I would just give it a while to finish, however I have had to restart dropbox like this before to regain access. I have never had an ill effects. And believe it or not its quite common in the DB forums to explain...
(if you click the menubar icon and it turns just blue (also may not have a color) with no appearance of doing anything)
To relaunch open utilities folder launch activity monitor, find process for dropbox, select quit, give it a few seconds to stop all processes and then go to applications folder, double click on dropbox icon, it will start again. You should be back to normal.Flag 0 -

Its called a stable build but they are not auto updating everyone at this moment it will start rolling out soon. OR you can always do the manual install thing.
PS....... v 1.1 will have some features that they held back due to there unhappiness with the finished product .... which is web site access for some advanced features specifically the new sharing model. It is still available but you have to visit a special link to enable it.
PSS.. Arash mentioned in a post there would be some pretty cool new features added after the first of the year.. more beta stuff so keep watching.Flag 0
