Can't paste into password field (iPad)

One thing is driving me mad with 1Password, it doesn't seem to be possible to paste passwords into the app's password field(s). This is especially annoying as I am having to use a third party password generator app due to the feature no being built into the iPad version.

I am running the universal app, and it allows me to paste into the fields on the iPhone just fine.

  • Hi Mr Clump,

Welcome to the forums, I'm just sorry your first post isn't under better circumstances.

I've just tested this on my own copy of 1Password Pro (3.5.4) and here's what I've found when trying to paste a password into a new 'Login' item's password field:

    - If you tap and hold on the field when the 'Your password' placeholder text is visible you'll just get a 'Copy' option

    - If you tap the field and then tap again after the placeholder text you'll get a several options, including paste but this will paste the password after the 'Your password' placeholder text

What seems to work the best is if you tap the grey 'x' icon to the right of the field to clear the placeholder text you can then tap within the password field and you should see an option to paste the password of your choice.

Hope that makes sense, it looks like it's really down to the differences in the UI with the iPad version, however I will mention this to our developers to see if we can clear things up a bit.
