Dropbox support too! Couple of questions though

I got the HTC EVO 4G for Christmas and was thrilled to find support for 1P well in development! (Just downloaded it from the Market today)

Really dumb question though - how do I invoke it? It's installed and I go to one of my regular https login items and see nothing. I tried getting to the site from the main Google search, and then also from the Sprint Internet app. Menu didn't seem to have it in there and it's not visible in the browser AFAIK.

The Dropbox download process was long - Is it copying/writing the same file to the same root location as if I had copied it over manually? Just curious.

Other than the 1P login password itself - are there safety precautions one should use in the event a phone is lost or stolen? A nightmare scenario would be losing the phone on a vacation and not being able to do much to kill it - leaving bad guys lots of time to try to get in to the data. Is there any self destruct mode? ha ha - Seriously though - like auto-erase all data after 3 failed password/log in attempts or something?

I'm not completely sure what your question is, but it sounds as though you are trying to use 1Password for Android as a form-filler in your mobile web browser. Is that correct? If so, you've overestimated our progress. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' /> At the moment, 1Password for Android is in beta, and it serves as a 1Password data *reader* so that you can access your information on the go. It does not allow you to edit items or fill them in your browser. In the future, we will expand its capabilities to be similar to those of the iPhone and iPad, but we don't have a date set for that to be accomplished.

Thanks for trying it out! Stay tuned for future enhancements.

oic Looking forward to future developments then. As a reader it can still be useful however if I forget my password(s) - better than being stuck on the road with no access at all! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Exactly! Thanks for understanding, and we look forward to the future of the Android app as well.

    Hi Kengel ,

Thank you for your interest in 1P4A and welcome to the Forum !

Dropbox synchronization depends on your network speed, Dropbox server congestion and size of your keychain.

My keychain (250 items default folder size > 6M, some singe files > 170K )

was consistently downloaded anew for 5-6 min through Wi-Fi network.

Some users reported syncing even longer keychains (77M with more than 1500 items) in reasonable time.

Notice that once an initial sync has been made, only changed items are downloaded on the phone.

Therefore, next sync will be very fast because only items which have been changed are moved to the device (incremental sync).

1P4A doesn't have an option to erase your data remotely (it is an interesting idea and may be considered for future development though).

However, I assure you that your data on the phone is absolutely secure, nobody without a knowledge of your Master Password will be able

to read your secure data. You Master Password and Dropbox credentials are not stored on the phone, not even in the most private application preferences.

For Master password validation we use Advanced Encription Standard which is considered most secure.

This approach provides a very reliable security.

In addition, 1P4A has a Lock and an Autolock after certain interval features. These features prevents unwanted access to your data if you phone

    is left unattended.

1P4A has an autologin function which automatically fills your username and password on Login items. The feature works perfectly fine, you will need only click Submit

    button in order to login.

Please let me know if you need more info or refer to the 1P4A application help for the detailed information.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Gene

    Android developer.
