1Password Cannot Find Log-In on this page

<div class="IPBDescription">Suggestion to help with this problem</div>There are several sites I run into where I recieve this message and there is clearly a log-in space on the page. I'm sure it is due to the coding of the website but I'd like to see the ability to somehow report the url to 1password so that it could be reviewed and somehow this problem be fixed at urls where this is a common problem.

    Welcome to the forum, Joe!

I assume you mean this message:

1Password typically displays that message when the current page doesn't include a form with a submit button.

If you'll let us know some of the URLs where that happens, we can take a look into what's causing the message to be displayed.

    Thanks!

The following page gives the "cannot find" error when using IE 8 on windows 7.

    http://www.vmware.com/partners/partners.html

    Windows 7

    iE 8.0.7600

    1Password 1.0.4.173

It seems to work fine using Chrome as the browser.
  • Jon, welcome to the forum! Sorry it's taken so long for someone to respond to your post. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

I don't have IE 8 on Windows 7, but I've checked in IE 8 on XP and in IE 9 on Windows 7: in both cases, 1Password for Windows displayed the offer to save a Login item when I submitted the form at that URL.

Note that 1Password is tested for compatibility with only the current non-Beta releases of Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome. It might continue to work with older versions for a while, but we don't guarantee ongoing compatibility.

You may want to consider upgrading to IE 9. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The following page gives the "cannot find" error when using IE 8 on windows 7.

    http://www.vmware.com/partners/partners.html
I cannot seem to reproduce this. Here's what I did:

    1. opened http://www.vmware.com/partners/partners.html in IE

    2. entered a (bogus) username and password

    3. clicked on the 1P button

    4. clicked on "Save Login"

Result: 1P prompts me with the "Save Login" dialog.

    Am I missing something?
  • I didn't even need to click the 1Password button and the Save Login button—as soon as I submitted the form, 1Password offered to save a new vmware.com Login for me.

(Again, I was in Windows 7 but using IE 9, which is the only version for which we confirm compatibility.)
