Cannot unlock Chrome extension
Sometimes I cannot unlock my Chrome extension. I click the icon, type in my master password, and then I hear the unlock sound but it just freezes and the key never turns. Sometimes it works. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall both the extension and Chrome itself. I've tried both stable and beta channels of Chrome.
What is really weird, when it is not working, when I create a new password on a new website it still prompts me to save it. And when I input master password to save the new login it unlocks successfully and then functions normally.
When it works I love it! When it doesn't it is annoying. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue, though it doesn't occasionally work for me. Once I've successfully logged in, the lock graphic stays up. If I right click the extension button, it goes away, and then clicking the extension button just has the effect of appearing toggled or not (with a little outline).
I'm running the same versions of Windows, Chrome, and 1Password as Robert is.Flag 0 -
Well, after further experimentation it seems to only work temporarily after Chrome uninstall/reinstalls. Seems to break again soon after. My other PC just started doing it as well. So now I can't use 1P in Chrome at all on two different machines.

Hi guys,
Please update to the latest version of Chrome 9 beta, it should be 9.0.597.67 now. After that, quit Chrome, open 1Password, unlock and press the Preferences button. Go to the Browsers button, uncheck the box next to Google Chrome, press OK and then Preferences > Browsers and check the box next to Google Chrome.
Let me know how it turns out.
We did have issues with our Chrome extension not working in Chrome 9 Beta (9.0.597.47), which is why I’m recommending updating to 9.0.597.67.Flag 0 -

Thank you for the reply. I went to check and both of my PCs had already updated on their own. I tried what you suggested to reinstall the extension and it did not resolve the issue. I went ahead and uninstalled Chrome from both PCs, reinstalled it, and then reinstalled the 1P extension. Afterward both machines are now functioning properly with the 1P extension and I can unlock them.
I have resolved this problem on my Win7 machine this way in the past. I'm starting to think that it is Chrome's frequent updates that are breaking the 1P extension... I hope I don't have to do this to both PCs every six weeks. I have never had this issue with my XP machine before however. I'm wondering if this particular case may have been caused by the known bad version of Chrome you mentioned.Flag 0 -

Or maybe it is because I am syncing extensions? I noticed 1Password's extension is not sync'ed like the others ones. Maybe Chrome is mishandling it?

The Chrome extensions included with 1Password for Mac and 1Password for Windows are different and won't work properly on the wrong OS. For that reason, we recommend not including them in Chrome's built-in cross-platform extension sync feature.Flag 0 -
I solved a similar problem. When you turn (GPU Accelerated Compositing) does not extensions to unlock 1Password.
Chrome 9 would be to have this feature already enabled by default.

I just checked my two now functioning PCs and both have that GPU Accelerated Compositing disabled. I must have enabled them previously and uninstalling/reinstalling Chrome reset that setting. I think we are on to something <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0
