start a login

Just started using 1Password so may just being stupid on my part. Did search but found no results.

Why is there no option to have 1Password startup upon logging in? I can't logout right now to test it, but would adding /Applications/1Password/Contents/Executables/1PasswordAgent to my Accounts' Login Items work?

    [/quote]Hi Tim,

That’s the background agent for 1Password, it’s already set to run in the background for you at startup for you. To get 1Password to open on launch, you can add /Applications/1Password.app to the logins list or if you already have 1Password on your dock, right(control) click on it and go to Options > Open at Login.

Yeah, I know how; is why I mentioned adding the agent. But what got me to wondering is that there was no 1P button in Safari until I started 1Password. Also, especially when an app might be wanted as a startup item, there is an option in Prefs. And, though i didn't specifically mention it, the agent is all I would expect to have at login. I will explore why it didn't.

    Thanks,

    Tim,

I have seen issues with 1PasswordAgent not loading properly when files are stored in "unexpected" places, also you might consider resetting folder permissions from within 1Password (Help > Troubleshooting > Reset Folder Permissions).

Do you have 1Password.app installed in a location outside of your Applications folder?

Is your Applications folder stored outside of your startup volume?

Is your home folder stored outside of your startup volume?

Answering "yes" to any of those may have an adverse effect on 1PasswordAgent.

Hmmm, I do have it in ~/Applications instead of /Applications. I did a Permissions Repair and all is well.

Thanks. Love the software. Love the support. If I have time today to mess with it now I buy the iPhone app.

Thanks for letting me know that worked well for you, Tim! It is good to hear that things are working well and that you are happy with 1Password. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_bigsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-D' />
