Does 1Password Nullify Using Some Apps?
It seems to me that if you begin using 1Password to manage your passwords, it makes it very difficult (if not impossible) to use some iPhone applications. In my case, I utilized its Strong Password Generator to create a strong password. However, it would seem that I now cannot use my Bank of America app to log into my account. Why? Because 1Password doesn't (or at least it doesn't seem to) interface with my iPhone app. And my password is now far too complex for me to be able to remember it and enter it manually when the app prompts me for it. I would imagine this is the case with other apps as well. Is this correct? Does 1Password only work with browsers and not iPhone apps?

I copy and paste my strong, unique passwords from 1Password into other apps. Most notable, I always have to copy and paste my iTunes password whenever I am downloading a new app or updating existing ones. It is slightly more annoying than having a shorter, easy-to-type password but worth the extra security. It has the added bonus of deterring impulse purchases slightly. Although, it is still pretty easy. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
Of course, some apps I allow to store the password in the iOS keychain. Twitter and Facebook are two popular examples. It would be far too much of an annoyance to me to copy and paste either of those social networking passwords. I check them way too often. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Don't forget to set a passcode for your device, though, if you are saving any passwords (even/especially in Mail) in apps. Otherwise, someone could just come along and access all your e-mail (including password reset information which would give them access to everything anyway despite how locked down 1Password is).
I hope that helps. Please let me know how it works out for you.Flag 0
