New User - Possible to link wallet items to login items?

<div class="IPBDescription">wallet / login</div>I installed 1Password a week ago on my iPhone and 2 PC's and absolutely love the product so far. I have a question that I haven't found an answer to in the online help. Is it possible to link a login to a wallet item? It's confusing to me to see 6 different <my bank> items on the iPhone (there aren't enough characters displayed on the screen to show the full description). I'd love for there to be one 'Personal <my bank>' login page that lists all of the accounts linked to that login from the wallet (4 children's savings account, a family savings account, a checking account and a mortgage). The same is true with my brokerage account. Any thoughts of a better way to save my data?

    hestaman, welcome to the forum!

1Password for Windows currently doesn't include a feature for "cross-vault" links, but it's a good suggestion.

We have lots of ideas for how to open up customization options, and it helps us to know what you'd find useful.

    Please keep the suggestions coming!
  • I've been playing around a little bit since my post yesterday. I've found that the folders 'ALMOST' do what I'm looking for. I can group all logins, accounts and wallet items together and they show up under a single group in the iPhone. The problem is that I don't want to create a folder for every single login. For example, it makes since for banks and brokerages where multiple accounts exist for a single login, but not for say a power utlility provider where there is one login and one user account. It almost seems like there needs to be a higher top-level group. I'm trying to think of an appropriate name for the top level. If it were for a business, it could be called 'Vendors'. The iPhone could then give a list of all 'Vendors' or companies I do business with. You could then click '<my bank>' and have an option from there wether I want login information, account details, notes or wallet items for that vendor. Like I said - Folders almost do it, but I don't want to create a separate folder for every vendor - many of which only have a login and account associated with them, and I'd prefer not create a tree-system where I have to drill down to see all saved vendors. Anyway - just a suggestion from playing with the program for a couple of days - maybe I'll find a better way to do it as time allows. Again - great program - thanks for the response! <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • 1Password for Mac includes tags, which provide the kind of flexibility you're describing, because any given item can have as many tags as you like (whereas each item can be in only one folder at a time).

I hope tags (or a similar functionality) will make their way to 1Password for Windows in some future release.
