Ipad, Windows Chrome, Roboform Import

I have used roboform over the years on Windows with IE, works fine. Windows is primary machine (I am duly embarrassed) Roboform sucks on Chrome. Roboform sucks on Ipad. I also have a Mac and Iphone

I own 1password pro and its on my Ipad and Iphone. Works much better than Roboform. Thanks!

So, ideally, I could install 1password for Windows, import from Roboform, sync to dropbox and then to my i devices and it would work well in Chrome on a windows machine. If that is not possible, I could use 1Password on my Mac, import Roboform, sync the Mac and then sync the PC and i devices? What do you suggest? Thanks much

    Hi Bill,

There’s nothing to be embarrassed about, Windows is a good OS when it is properly taken care of. Windows 7 is an impressive OS in my opinion and I am a long time Mac user.

We have a short FAQ article explaining about the RoboForm’s export file on Windows: 1Password for Windows: Data Import [Roboform’s export info is on the bottom]

I’d strongly recommend downgrading your Roboform to 6.9 or older and then export from there, make sure you follow the instruction in the above FAQ article on how to export the data specifically in Roboform <6.9. You can import it in either 1Password for Windows or Mac, the results are likely to be exactly the same.

Once you import it into 1Password for Windows (or Mac), it’ll be synced automatically to the other platform and to your iOS devices if they are all configured with the Dropbox Sync option.

Thanks. That worked. Wonderful. I was able to import my Roboform passcards and then synch via dropbox to my Ipad and Iphone. Yea!

    Can I ask another question?

On the Ipad, lets say I'm in mobile Safari and I come across a site where I need to register. I need to give them my identity info and credit card. Can I somehow copy that URL and open 1password and fill that info from your browser? Can you tell me the steps to do that? Thanks
  • Newbie question. If I have an identity and credit card entered, can I go to a website in the 1passsword browser which requires a form to be filled out for name, address etc and have 1password fill them?

Unfortunately, Identity and Credit Card filling are not supported in our iOS apps at this time. I don't have a time frame for a specific release at the moment, but this is definitely on our radar!

We do offer a "Look Up in 1Password" bookmarklet that you can install in Mobile Safari and use to lookup login information. Click this link on your iPad and follow the instructions:

Install "Look Up in 1Password" bookmarklet (iPad)

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time, but I hope that helps.

Thanks Khad, I was afraid of that. Well its still a nice tool. I like the bookmarklet idea as well. Just FYI, the link you gave me needs to be re-written for OS 4.2. As you know, to make a bookmark now requires selecting the arrow at the top of the page, etc. But it still works well. Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up, Bill! I'm glad the bookmarklet is working well for you. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />
