Low Security

<div class="IPBDescription">How to configure and use?</div>Please point me to a tutorial that describes how to setup and use low security. I have search and come up empty on low security settings. I see I may define a login as low security, but I never seem to have set a four-digit access code so I am not sure how to use this feature.

I am using 1Password on Mac (Snow Leopard) & Windows Vista and 1Password Pro on iPad.

This is what I found in my search that eludes to the feature but does not explain how to set it up:

Low Security

Low Security items are viewable after you unlock 1Password. When you enter your four-digit Access Code and browse your items, you can tap a Low Security item and view all of its details without having to enter your Master Password. This is convenient, but not very secure. We recommend using Low Security ratings for non-critical items like grocery lists in Secure Notes or non-sensitive websites.

  • Hi bgg,

I'm really sorry for the confusion here, the 'Low Security' option isn't actually part of 1Password on Mac, Windows and iPad, it's specifically for 1Password on the iPhone where we use a 4-digit unlock code as well as your master password.

When you have 'Low Security' set for a given item you'll be able to access this using the 4-digit unlock code on your iPhone, without entering your master password. Because our desktop and iPad apps don't use the unlock code, and instead use your single master password, they don't have this option.

Hope that helps clear things up.
