Feature Suggestion - Fingerprint Reader/Face Recognition

Hi,
Many of the current notebooks have either Finger Print reader or Face Recog softwares. It would be nice if 1passwd can be integrated with that so that a finger swipe autofill the form instead of pressing some key combination from key board. If not with FaceRecog, I suppose it should be possible with at least finger print reader as it's a hardware input like keyboard inputs.
Although even as it is 1Password is the best.
Thanks,
-Dj

Dj, welcome to the forum!
1Password still works perfectly fine with Eikon-enabled systems and if configured properly, you can unlock OS X and 1Password using your Eikon.
The way to do this is to go to the 1Password > Preferences > Security window and enable the "Never prompt for master password option". This option will store your master password into the default OS X login keychain and this keychain can be unlocked automatically after successful authentication using the Eikon. When using this approach 1Password will be able to unlock itself without you ever needing to enter a single password.
I hope that helps.Flag 0 -
I hate to correct you DB, but I think DJ is asking about these readers on Windows based laptops, hence the post in the Windows beta forum. This is an interesting idea, I'm not sure if it's something we can implement, I would imagine it certainly wouldn't be a feature for version 1.0 of 1Password for Windows, though if Stefan wants to chime up and correct me with some super secret announcement then by all means surprise me.
It's a great idea though, I guess that then makes the product 0Password ?Flag 0 -
Thats all right David, that one really catches me.
I forget where I am at a lot, one of most memorable was a reply I put in the feature request.. All I am gonna say is a whopping big DOOOOH on my part. Thanks to an ever vigilant user they sorted me out to.
On that subject I ALMOST wish there was a way for us to segment ourselves and only see replies for certain forums. I will almost 99% never use a win machine again, thats unless I have to. But then I loose the ability to chime in on dropbox topics etc.
So I just say you guys correct me when I to get into the wrong forum. Its a whirlwind around here and we all have trouble keeping up at times. Especially me......Hows it go .. I get by with a little help from my friends :smile:Flag 0 -
Thanks for your post, Tommy!
It's not so much that I mind looking like a dope, occasionally, but I feel bad about giving useless advice to Dj.
I'll just have to try harder to get oriented before replying...and of course we'll keep watching out for each other, as you say. :)Flag 0 -
I agree, this function is needed for Windows based machines. I have a machine given to me through my work, and really would like the fingerprint reader to work with 1Password.Flag 0

Do they have an API?Flag 0 -
Please bring biometrics back to 1Password at list on the Mac.I'm sure many users would benefit from this feature in Windows World as well. This will be the best app ever. And you still going to be 1Password, since you need to remember this password for iOS devices and laptop/Pc when finger is not working. Plus finger will be your one password you will need <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0

To be clear, 1Password for Windows never had biometrics, so it's not a question of bringing it back.
I think Stefan is best suited to follow this thread, as he has the technical expertise to determine the possibilities and likelihoods. <img src='http://forum.agilebits.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0
