Will you be able to add a 1password toolbar in iOS 4.3 iPad Safari ?

Unless iOS 4.3 is adding something that I am not aware of, it will not be possible for 1Password or any other 3rd party software integration/ extension. Maybe someday (although I really doubt Apple will allow that...) <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />
However, the next best thing is, of course, Safari bookmarklets (ta-da!) if you just need a few logins handy; whereas 1Password Pro (Universal) or the individual 1Password iPhone and iPad versions are even better if you want to have all your data synchronized between the desktop and iOS versions of 1Password.
Question for the Agile folks, though: does the Safari bookmarklet syncing work on the Windows side as well?Flag 0 -
You are correct, brenty. Third-party integration with Mobile Safari (or between any two third-party iOS apps) may never be possible as part of the security model Apple has in place in iOS involves segregating apps from each other within the system (often called "sandboxing"). This is great from a security standpoint — no bad guys can hijack Mobile Safari like they have Internet Explorer in the past — but it also makes integrating 1Password impossible. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_sadsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-(' />
While the "1Password Logins" bookmarklet is exclusive to 1Password for Mac, the "Look Up in 1Password" bookmarklet (iPhone) (iPad) is self-contained and works with 1Password for iPhone, 1Password for iPad, and 1Password Pro regardless of whether or not you have 1Password installed on any desktop computer. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />Flag 0 -

Thanks for the clarification. I haven't used 1Password for Windows (yet,) and I was curious about that.
As for the iOS apps, I really think you guys ought to make a bigger deal about the built-in web browser functionality. I can't even find a blurb about it -- a blurb! -- in the description on the iTunes App Store. It's really well done, and you can't beat the convenience. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />Flag 0 -

Thanks, brenty, we appreciate that <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> It's nice to have recognition for things that are well-done. I couldn't believe we didn't have anything about that, but you're right, we don't. I'll have to pass that along to our lead designer, Dan the Man, and see if he can do something about that. Or maybe Roustem is the one who updates the description. I can't keep up with who does what! Thanks again!Flag 0 -
Hello Samplex,
I'm sorry to hear that you're dissatisfied with your purchase of the 1Password mobile app! We certainly don't want any of our customers to be unhappy.
As discussed above, however, Apple does not allow integration with Mobile Safari (for 1Password or any iOS apps). This is something that is truly beyond our control and not available from any other iOS app in the App Store either. If there is anything in our App Store description, User Guide, or elsewhere on our website that gives the wrong impression, I would love to know about it in order to make a clarification or correction. Please do let us know.
Unfortunately, since the App Store is managed by Apple, we're not able to refund your money ourselves. You will need to contact the iTunes Support team for help with this.
While the App Store terms of service state that all sales are final, I hope that you are able to get the matter resolved quickly by Apple and to your satisfaction.
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
We are always here to help!Flag 0
