How to start syncing data if I was using the iPhone app first

I have been using the 1password app for several months on the iphone. I now want to sync my data with my Mac. How do I get a data file from the iphone so that I can start syncing with dropbox to and from my Mac?

I know how to do a backup and restore of the database over wifi but that file isn't compatible with the dropbox sync.

Thanks,

    Welcome to the forums, Roc!

Please take a look at our Dropbox syncing guide and carefully follow the steps. A couple things I would like to point out:

You do not need Dropbox installed on your iOS devices. All the necessary code for Dropbox syncing is already contained in 1Password Pro. Of course, you can use the Dropbox app on your iOS devices to access your other files in Dropbox, but it is not needed for 1Password syncing. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

You do need to install Dropbox on your Mac. This is one of the first steps outlined in the guide.

Regardless of where your data "starts out" (i.e., on your Mac, PC, or iOS device), setting up Dropbox syncing is the same. Your data will be pulled from all available iOS devices and merged on your desktop. In your case, you will start with an empty data file on your Mac and once Dropbox has finished syncing, you will see all of your iPad data on your Mac. From here on out, everything will be automatically updated between your Mac and iOS devices. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />
I hope that helps. Please let me know how it turns out.
