Feature request: better support at Mint.com

<div class="IPBDescription">feature request</div>Several of the accounts that I have connected to Mint.com require frequent reauthorization. It would be pretty awesome if I could use the 1P menu to fill these rather than having to copy-and-paste from the 1Password Mac app.

    Hi Mick,

Are you referring to using 1Password to auto-fill your bank/credit card Logins into mint.com, so that you can add those accounts into your account?

Unfortunately, this can interfere with 1Password’s anti-phishing technology. 1Password is designed to only fill your Logins on sites that is specified in the Logins itself: a Mint.com Login can only be filled on Mint.com. If it was allowed to auto-fill on any other sites, you can easily fill it into a fake mint.com site that’s hard to tell apart from the real one.

That doesn’t mean we will not have a solution in the future. In the Chrome extension, you can easily view any Login details, copy and paste the specific information into the web site. This is easier than to open the main 1Password window and do the copy/paste there.

    I hope this helps,

I've had my share of issues with Mint as well. It's a great service (when it works,) and a very attractive site, but they use a lot of non-standard form stuff and plenty of web voodoo. The result is amazing and beautiful, but it really seems to limit the possibilities for other cloud and desktop applications to interface with it. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':(' />

On the other hand, we might be better off with a site to which we give an inordinate amount of trust (and personal information!) being somewhat impenetrable, because it makes it more difficult for attackers as well. This may very well be their intent. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
