Missing http:// in URL Causes Problem in Chrome

In the 1Password application, it is not necessary to enter the protocol (http://) in the URL for a new login. Whether the URL has a protocol or not, a thumbnail will be successfully fetched.

However, the missing protocol will cause a problem in the Chrome web browser. When the 1Password button is clicked, then the "All Logins" button, then a login which has no protocol in its URL is clicked, Chrome produces an error.

  • Thanks for the report, Logic Bus, I've just tested this on my own setup and I can confirm this is the case.

I've passed this along to our developers to see what we can do to fix this bug, so thanks for bringing this to our attention. For now, it may be worth making sure your Login items have the relevant protocol associated with them, until we can get this fixed.
