Error Loading Backup

Hi, I just did a clean install of snow leopard. I had backed up my 1Password files to my external hard drive before the clean install and I am attempting to restore it now.

When I try, I get this error:

"Failed to restore from backup, cannot move /var/folders/1o/1oenHXIwHPW7Xb-QIcSzkk+++TI/-Tmp-/321256511/1Password.agilekeychain to ~/Library/Application Support/1Password/1Password.agilekeychain

Error: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=4 UserInfo=0x1154d22b0 "The file “1Password.agilekeychain” doesn’t exist.""

I've moved the backup to my documents folder, and also tried it in the 1Password folder, no luck.

Any help is greatly appreciated - searched before and couldn't find the same problem.

Thanks!

  • Hello,

I just wanted to share that I'm having the exact problem.

I backed up 1password, moved the file to my external HD, Clean Install OS X. And now I can't restore!

The same error message appears; with different numbers though.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi guys,

Please try downgrading to 1Password 3.5.7 and see if that helps. You can download 1Password 3.5.7 here: 1Password Versions Page

    Hi Supabry,

Thank you for letting us know that worked. This will at least help us narrow it down to a bug inside the 1Password 3.5.8 update. We’ll look into it and have it fixed ASAP.
  • Hi,

    Worked for me too.

Now that it worked, can we safely update to Ver. 3.5.8? or should we wait for the upcoming one?

    Thanks Mike.

    Hi M jay,

You can safely upgrade to 1Password 3.5.8 if you have no plans to restore from the backup file anymore. We believe this is a bug from the improvement we made to the restoration process in the 1Password 3.5.8 update. We’re investigating this bug and we’ll have a fix or remove the change in an upcoming update. I do not have a timeframe on when we’ll fix this for good.

You can also skip 3.5.8 if you don’t want to but I’d recommend updating to 3.5.8 as it contains a lot of improvements that is useful.

I am happy to say that this has been completely resolved in 1Password for Mac 3.5.9. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_bigsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-D' />
