1Password with Dropbox sync never finishes

I have 1Password syncing to my Dropbox account. One day it just stopped working. I get the Dropbox sync icon and it never goes away



One kink could be that this is from an Open Directory account so the home folder for my user account is on a Snow Leopard Server. All software is up to date, including the server software and this used to work fine till a few days ago.



Also note that my home computer and iPhone all are doing their 1Password to Dropbox sync no problem. so it is just my work system where my home directory is on a server.



Any fix please???



Anyone else seeing this or is it just me???

    Unfortunately I do not know enough about the home directory on a server thing to speculate. Sorry. Just letting you know your post was seen and that I will need to wait for onbe of the others to respond.



    Some things to consider are Possibly updating to the latest version of Dropbox: [url="https://www.dropbox.com/install"]https://www.dropbox.com/install[/url]



    There is a newer version that is available in the forums [url="http://forums.dropbox.com/"]http://forums.dropbox.com/[/url]



    Do any of your files sync properly ?



    The Server may need rebooting and or relinking to Dropbox if no syncing of any files are occurring.

    I am have no issues syncing other files, just my 1password keychain. Just tested with the latest forum version too and still not working.

    I'm sorry for the continued trouble here. It's very odd that only your 1Password keychain won't sync properly.



    To help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report to support@agilewebsolutions.com with a link back to this post so we can 'connect the dots' so to speak.



    To generate the report from 1Password on your Mac, open 1Password and select Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report. Then attach the entire file to a response to this email.

    How long are you waiting: the first time I synched with DropBox, I thought I had run into the same trouble? In fact, waiting another few minutes (>20?) was all DropBox needed to finish. Good luck!

One of the problem was that the Dropbox configuration was pointing to a different Dropbox folder on the local machine, which didn’t have 1Password keychain in it. [/size][/color][/size]

  • Thanks everyone for fixing this. Just so everyone knows the solution was to move the Dropbox folder to the local hard drive instead of in my network account and all is well. Sync finished seconds after the move. Not sure who Dropbox has issues with the agile keychain on a network account but it sounds like Dropbox can have issues in general when used from a network account. Not a perfect solution but it works great.
