Feature Request: "Mindless" automatic iPhone sync

I love 1Password and am thrilled that it works so well on my Mac and iPhone. But I find all too often that I have entered passwords etc. on my Mac and then go to look for them when I am out and about on my iPhone only to remember "Oops, I forgot to sync 1Password".

I understand that there may be good security reasons to force a user to log in both on the Mac AND the iPhone to do the sync. But this is different than most other apps that sync with the phone. For programs like Calendar and Address Book, if you plug in your phone, you have all the latest entries. No brainer. Done.

Can we achieve this same simplicity with 1Password? Even if there is a security risk, could I assume this risk for a given computer and iPhone? (I.E. If I plug MY iPhone into MY computer, the sync will occur automatically; not so for other iPhones or computers.)

  • Larry,

1Password has a top notch system for syncing with Dropbox through the internet cloud. Your Mac and iPhone are then kept in sync automagically so that you don't have to think about it. If you have specific security concerns, the Agile team put together a document about that (see below).
