Import backup to Windows without attachments

Hi,

I'm using 1Password for Mac because this is my main-used computer. Now I want try the Windows version on my desktop computer. So I downloaded the trialversion. I wanted to use the backup file to import on windows. But all attachments are gone.

Aren't the attachments backuped? Is the windows version limited or buggy?

greetings

Raphael

  • Given only those two choices, Raphael, I'd have to pick "limited" (though we like to think of it as "relatively new"). <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />

As documented in How do I import data into 1Password for Windows? in the FAQ section of the user's guide, 1Password currently imports only Logins.

If you use the 1Password Interchange Format (.1pif file), though, attachments to those Logins should be included in the transfer. Please let us know if that's not the case in your experience.

Note: Unless you're moving data once from the Mac to the PC and don't intend to keep using 1Password on your Mac, too, you'll probably be happier using Dropbox to sync your 1Password data between the Mac and PC, as described in the following documents.

  • Raphael, I've found the DropBox solution works behind the scenes and perfectly. If you've never used DropBox, it may seem a little strange at first but works quite intuitively. And it is very easy to set up 1Password on it wit the intructions David gave.

If you use this link to sign up for DropBox, we both get a little extra storage: http://db.tt/1Ho2CgA

    (Sorry, couldn't resist!)
