Missing widescreen icon in 1Password's toolbar

Hi, 1P team !

I come back to this forum to ask one more time for the auto-fill feature. WHy? Because I really miss it!

It should be so convenient if 1P could react as browsers password manager does. Instead of right-clicking to select "Fill XXXX", the master pwd could be automaticaly prompted on a recognised website, or fields automaticaly filled! (1-Click Bookmarks is not helpful anymore: I do not use bookmarks like it.)

I understand that you think it could be a lack of security, but I do not really understand the difference between manualy "Click-right > Fill in" and an automaticaly fill in. Moreover, I really would enjoy it! This would make 1P the best manager ever!

An UI bug, otherwise: on all of my computers, the widescreen mode image on the toolbar button does not appear (build 30884).

One more thing! Why cannot we remove the "All" smart folder? And sort folder manualy? Ok I stop here <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

By the way, I saw you were working on custom templates. Honestly, guys, this software just rocks! Marvelous job, thanks.

  • Hi Didjo, always great to hear from our users, especially when they want to see 1Password become even better <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

We've been doing a lot of thinking about 1Password and auto-fill of late, and we've decided that this is something we want to add in a future update. We've realised that a lot of users, such as yourself, want this convenience and are happy to accept the potential security trade off. I don't have a timeframe for when this will be available, or any more details to share, but auto-fill is officially on the radar.

This is quite strange, especially since it's happening on all your Macs. The first thing I'd suggest is trying to reinstall 1Password 3.5.9 from http://agilewebsolutions.com/downloads on all the systems to see if this gets things up and running.

The 'All' smart-folder can't be removed because it's designed to give you a view of every single item in your 1Password vault, regardless of the vault category they reside in. Sorting folders manually has come up from time to time, and it may be something we look into for the future.

That's right, again no timeframes to share right now, but custom templates is something we're incredibly excited about <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

  • Hi, thank you for this quick and detailed answer!

I'm glad you finally plan to add this feature! Great, and thanks for considering us!

I anticipate that suggestion and I of course tried couple of different things. I downloaded and I download 1P again from your website to replace the version on my HD, nothing changed. I installed it on another computer (on which he had never been installed), same issue (why I said all my Macs). Confused to see that I seem to be the first...

Honeslty, Didjo, we wouldn't be here without our amazing users <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

So this gets stranger, let's check something, although the icon is missing, can you still go to View > Layout and select the Widescreen option?

Add in a few booms, isn't it amazing, and describing things as magical, and I'm all set <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I can see the icon in the menubar, but not in the toolbar.

    In 1Password > Contents > Resources, I got tb_widescreen-mode-down.png and tb_widescreen-mode-up.png.

    Hey Didjo,

I split this from the autofill thread since I think it deserves its own thread.

To help us track down the issue more quickly, could you please email us your Diagnostics Report? To generate the report from 1Password on your Mac, open 1Password and select Help > Troubleshooting > Diagnostics Report. Then attach the entire file to an email to support@agilewebsolutions.com.

Please include a link to this thread in order that we might more quickly "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, though.

  • Thanks Didjo, we're a little busier than normal at the moment, but we'll get back to you as soon as we can with an update.
