Hi

I use dropbox on my Mac, but prefer to use the web version, rather than install the app, as it's a shared computer. Does this rule out me being able to use Dropbox for syncing? I really hope not.

    Thanks

I am sorry to have to say that currently the only way to sync is via the Dropbox client application. I wish I had better news for you.

You could always manually upload the keychain to the Dropbox servers but you would loose the syncing until such time as you uploaded again and then you would have to download it to the other Macs. It would become a very tedious process.

If you are concerned about space you could always use selective sync in the Dropbox preferences. So not all folders download to the Macs.

Some prefer not to see the icon like at work etc. In that case I suggest you look in the dropbox wiki http://wiki.dropbox.com/ for an app MacDropHide. It...well hides the dropbox icon in the menubar

1PasswordAnywhere is read-only, but if you are syncing with an iOS device, any changes you make in 1Password on your iOS device will show up in 1PasswordAnywhere on the Mac. You just can't add or edit your 1Password data in 1PasswordAnywhere.

    Ah thank you, khad

I dont use 1passwordanywhere and forgot all about it. I should have known the guru would catch something <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
  • 1PasswordAnywhere is one of those little things that you tend to very rarely use, but it can really come in handy <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

This thread just made me smile. Tommy, you replied to the question, "Do I need to install the Dropbox application on my Mac?" while I responded to the question, "Do I need to install the 1Password application on my Mac?"

It still isn't clear to me what the question really was, but I think we covered the bases. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Yeah funny now I read it again.

I guess that comes from also hanging out at the Dropbox forums as soooo many people there do not or cannot install the client.
