Changing Login Passwords

More often than not when I change a password I do not get the"update existing login" popup so depending how I approach this I end up with duplicate entries and/or lose my password history. What is the best procedure for this?

Unfortunately, we cannot always correctly detect the "change password" page on a site. There is not a standard which all sites use, so it can be a bit tricky.

So, in order to update a login where you do not see the "Update Login" dialog box, you will likely need to visit the login page of the site right after making the change and then use the "Fill Last Generated Password" menu item in Safari or Firefox to fill the password where you will then be prompted to re-save the login. Select "Replace Login" from the drop-down menu.

Additionally, you can locate the generated passwords at any time in the future. All generated passwords are automatically saved in the Generated Passwords section in 1Password (Preferences > General > Display in Sidebar > Generate Passwords). They are stored for you, so you don't have to have a piece of paper handy.

Of course, all of this only applies if you are using the Strong Password Generator, but why wouldn't you? <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_bigsmile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-D' />

We are working to make the process simpler in a future release.

I hope that helps. Please let me know.

    Cheers,
