synching securely

<div class="IPBDescription">sharing 1password database between computers</div>i am running 1password 3.5.9. i have it on two macs and want to synch the database. i saw the wonderful tutorial in the faq on how to do this via dropbox. seems very straightforward. before i did it though i had a security question. how secure is this? i have 1password store all my passwords to all my sensitive sites. if i put this information on dropbox, am i now making this information available to others? i guess the question is is the data encrypted?

i am sure this is a rather basic and probably naive question, but i wanted to be sure before using dropbox synching

thanks

    Welcome to the forums, gabne!

This is a great question. So great, in fact, that we wrote up a whole article which we hope helps explain why all of us at Agile use Dropbox to sync our data every day. <img src='http://forum.agile.ws/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/skype_smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':-)' />

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Believe me, it is a fantastic question. It is good that you are thinking about these things! We try to make 1Password easy for everyone to use, but we also make sure that everything about the application you use to store your sensitive data stands up to scrutiny.

    Cheers,
